Texas Tourism: Online Application UI Design

My friend, Dave Nolan, called me up one day and asked if I could come over to Temerlin McClain and help them out with a UI project for Texas Tourism. The mission was to create an online application that would help folks, traveling around the great state of Texas, find and enjoy all the cool places in the state. Also, they wanted the app to tie into the Texas Tourism television ad campaign they were running at the time. The ads were full of clips from all these great places to visit and through a great collaborative effort with the development team at TM, we came up with an interactive approach to viewing the TV ads through the app. While watching the video, the user was presented with each location clip on an interactive map beside the video. The interactive map allowed the user to get more information on the location and even allowed them to add it to their travel itinerary tool within this application. And of course, we also made sure it had an interface that maintained that vintage Texas look and feel.
